Dr. Bob JankelsonDr. Bob Jankelson is an internationally recognized dental clinician, clinical researcher, educator and author. Dr. Jankelson collaborated with his father, Dr. Bernard Jankelson, to develop advanced technology and treatment procedures for diagnosis and treatment of head and neck musculoskeletal disorders. Their research helped define the complex inter-relationships between the teeth, skeletal structures and muscles. Their pioneering work has been recognized and honored in many countries. Dr. Bob Jankelson's 700 page Textbook on the subject, published in 1990, has become a standard reference for the field.

Dr. Jankelson began teaching in Italy in 1979 where he and his father's research is widely recognized because all Italian dentists at this time were also graduate physicians. This dual training was necessary to understand the highly technical and complex neurophysiology underlying their research. A long and rewarding association with Italy was thus begun.

He has been guest lecturer at the Universities of Florence, Milano, Turino, Rome, Bari, Naples and many international Italian medical/dental Congresses over the past 25 years. Forty visits to Italy have instilled a deep appreciation for the "art of Italian living." The architectural beauty of Tsillan Cellars reflects his particular appreciation for the Tuscany region of Italy. The winery provides a place of serenity and inspiration to fuse world-class wine, food and music into memorable times with friends and family.

Dr. Jankelson retired from active practice in 1991, moved permanently to Chelan in 1994 while continuing to teach throughout the world. Thousands of Puget Sound residents have grown up with annual vacations to the shores of Lake Chelan. The legendary summer sun and long summer days with cool nights are ideal for growing tree fruits such as apples and cherries. When these orchards became economically distressed Dr. Jankelson searched for options to preserve the agricultural heritage of the Chelan Valley. A large lake, gently sloping land and lake breezes to temper climatic extremes suggested a rewarding viticulture adventure. Thus, the beautiful Tsillan Cellars Winery and surrounding vineyards arose.
