Founded in 2000, Tsillan Cellars is often referred to as the “Crown Jewel” of the Lake Chelan AVA. Celebrated for its’ authentic Italian architecture and world class wines from their pioneering estate vineyards this 127 acres destination winery continues to bring increasing awareness of the Chelan Valley as a wine tourism mecca. Combine Tsillan Cellars Sorrento Ristorante, honored as Open Table Top 100 Scenic Restaurants in North America, with the Chelan AVAs’ most awarded wines make a most memorable wine experience.

Tsillan Cellars continues its’ legacy of bringing recognition to the Lake Chelan AVA as a rising star in the Northwest wine industry. Each year wines from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia that have won gold medals in selected competitions are invited to compete against each other for the coveted Platinum Award as the Best of the Best.  Once again Tsillan Cellars was the leading Platinum winner among a group of talented Chelan winemakers such as Tipsy Canyon, Mellisoni, Chelan Ridge, CR Sandidge, Succession and Siren Song to help further establish the credibility of the Lake Chelan AVA.,

Great Northwest Magazine Winter 2023 Edition describes the ascendancy of Tsillan Cellars into the elite of Northwest wineries: “Eight wineries around Lake Chelan combined for 25 Platinums in 2022. Leading the Lake Chelan wine community continues to be Tsillan Cellars, a testament to the vision of Dr. Robert Jankelson and decades of work by vineyard manager Bal Flores and the transition to head winemaker Garrett Grubbs. Tsillan Cellars won five Platinums this year and moved to No. 11 on the all-time list with 31 in its’ history.”

Helping bring awareness of the Lake Chelan AVA to a wide audience of wine tourists is integral to Bob Jankelson twenty-year effort to make Lake Chelan one of the premier wine destinations in the Northwest.  Opened in Nov 2022, Tsillan Cellars’ new wine tasting/ event facility in Woodinville is already receiving acclaim for setting new standards of wine tasting elegance and is sure to bring increasing awareness of the quality and uniqueness of the Chelan AVA.  The new tasting room is featured on the cover of the Winter 2023 edition of Washington Tasting Room Magazine. Washington Wine Tasting magazine describes the new venue: “Ahead of the curve with a Woodinville location since 2017, Tsillan Cellars’ Bob Jankelson understands the guiding principle. The cover photo of this issue might have been taken at a ritzy European resort, yet it is actually Tsillan Cellars new tasting room in Woodin Creek Village, an upscale Woodinville district. Jankelson and his team say they outgrew their former Woodinville location and spent over a year designing the interior.”

Bob Jankelson, owner and founder of Tsillan Cellars, acknowledges that recognition of the Lake Chelan AVA as a leading wine destination is most satisfying after much skepticism in the wine industry twenty years ago. He appreciates the hard work of other Lake Chelan winery pioneers to make Lake Chelan one of the most sought out wine tourism destinations in Washington State.
